There are some conventions you go to because you’re curious, and then there are conventions that immediately make you wonder why you didn’t start going years ago.

Power Morphicon 2026 was definitely the second one for me.

This was my first time attending Power Morphicon at the Pasadena Convention Center, and as a longtime Power Rangers fan, I wasn’t completely sure what to expect walking in. I knew there would be actors, vendors, panels, collectibles, and plenty of Power Rangers fans, but actually being there was a completely different experience.

From the moment I walked through the convention center, it felt like Power Rangers had taken over Pasadena.

Rangers Everywhere

One of the coolest parts of Power Morphicon was simply walking around the convention.

Everywhere you looked, there was something happening. Vendors had booths packed with Power Rangers toys, collectibles, figures, artwork, memorabilia, and plenty of things that immediately made me want to pull out my wallet.

Then you’d turn around and see Rangers, villains, monsters, and other characters walking through the convention center.

The cosplay was especially fun because Power Morphicon isn’t just a convention where everyone is there to shop. Fans are genuinely celebrating something they’ve loved for years, and you could feel that throughout the weekend.

It was one of those places where seeing a Red Ranger or a giant Power Rangers villain casually walking down the hallway somehow became completely normal.

A Special Moment With My Son

One of my favorite memories from the convention actually had nothing to do with Power Rangers.

My son was there with me, and his favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle is Michelangelo. So when we got the chance to meet Mikey, he was incredibly excited.

Seeing him get to meet one of his favorite characters made the convention even more special for me. I was there getting to experience something I grew up loving, while at the same time watching my son get excited about one of the characters he loves.

That’s a pretty awesome feeling as a dad.

And honestly, that’s exactly the kind of thing Saturday Morning Studios is about. The characters might change from one generation to the next, but that excitement doesn’t.

Meeting the Actors

Another huge part of Power Morphicon is the opportunity to meet actors from throughout the history of the franchise.

There were autograph signings, photo opportunities, and appearances from people connected to different generations of Power Rangers.

For someone who grew up watching these characters on television, there’s something pretty surreal about seeing the people behind them sitting just a few feet away.

That’s one of the things I really liked about Power Morphicon. It felt much more focused than a massive general pop culture convention. Pretty much everyone was there because they shared some connection to Power Rangers, Super Sentai, tokusatsu, or the community surrounding them.

The Highlight: The Original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Cast

Without question, my favorite part of the entire convention was seeing the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers cast panel.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is where all of this started for me, so getting to sit in a room filled with fans while members of the original cast talked about the show was easily the highlight of my first Power Morphicon.

There is something different about hearing the stories directly from the actors themselves.

You can watch old episodes, interviews, documentaries, and clips online, but sitting there with hundreds of other fans who remember those same characters and moments makes it feel completely different.

For a little while, it felt like being a kid again.

And really, that’s a big part of what Saturday Morning Studios is all about.

Those cartoons, shows, toys, games, and characters we grew up with never completely disappeared. Sometimes all it takes is hearing a familiar theme song, seeing an old toy, or sitting in a room with other fans to bring all of those memories rushing back.

More Than Just a Power Rangers Convention

What surprised me most was how much I enjoyed the overall atmosphere.

Yes, there were things to buy.

Yes, there were celebrities to meet.

Yes, there were panels to watch.

But Power Morphicon also felt like a giant gathering of people who just really love this franchise.

You had longtime fans who watched Mighty Morphin Power Rangers when it originally aired, younger fans who discovered completely different Ranger teams, collectors hunting for something rare, cosplayers showing off incredible costumes, and families experiencing the convention together.

That combination made the weekend feel special.

Will I Go Again?

That’s an easy one.

Absolutely.

Power Morphicon is held every two years, which means unfortunately there is a bit of a wait before we get to do all of this again.

But after finally experiencing my first Power Morphicon in 2026, I already know I’ll be back for the next one.

There are definitely things I’d do differently next time, especially now that I know how much there is to see and do. But for a first Power Morphicon, I couldn’t have asked for a much better experience.

Great vendors. Great cosplay. Actor signings. Panels. Tons of collectibles. And getting to see members of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers cast together in Pasadena.
